Humans are not meant to be solitary creatures. A lot of times, people just need to verbalize their problems to find the solutions that have been staring them in the face this entire time. Sometimes we need an objective ear to help us brainstorm ideas, and sometimes we need wisdom and resources to move us to the next level. Regardless of where you are at in the process, we can help.

We believe ethics are the guiding force in everything we do. We follow the ethical principals set forth by several governing agencies both nationally and in the State of Colorado. Through trauma informed care, respect, and following the guidelines of what services we can legally and ethically offer, ethics and making decisions based on these principals will always be something that you can expect when working with us.

Being able to obtain an objective perspective is one of the main reasons why people seek coaching services. Being free of personal agenda, opinion, and bias, is a skill that we take seriously and commit to providing an environment where you can feel assured that you and your life are at the center of our  sessions together.

Each coaching session provides an opportunity to receive honest feedback to help you deal with the obstacles you’re struggling with. Through constructive observation and response, you can rely on receiving resources and information that are relevant to you, to move you to the next step towards success.

Open Minded

Open Minded

Free from motives or personal bias, each session is truly about you and your situation. We take care to free ourselves of judgment, bias, and opinion to ensure a level of objectivity that you can rely on. Our client’s motives and wants are always at the forefront of the session as the session is always about the client, and never about the coach.

Coaching vs. Therapy

A therapist typically has a background in psychology or counseling and is trained to help individuals overcome emotional and mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. They use various therapeutic techniques to help clients understand and cope with their feelings and behaviors and to develop strategies to improve their overall mental health and well-being. Therapists and counselors MUST BE designated by the state and approved to practice therapy and counseling.

On the other hand, a life coach focuses more on helping individuals achieve their personal and professional goals, such as career advancement, improved relationships, or a healthier lifestyle. They help clients identify their strengths and weaknesses, set achievable goals, and develop actionable plans to reach those goals.

While there is some overlap between the two professions, there are also some key differences. A therapist is typically trained to diagnose and treat mental health conditions, while a life coach does not diagnose or treat mental health issues. Additionally, a therapist often works with clients who are experiencing emotional distress or psychological problems, while a life coach generally works with individuals who are functioning well but want to improve their lives in some way.

So what does a therapist do versus what a coach does? Coaching is only focused on the what and the how whereas therapy includes the why. Overall, the main difference between a life coach and a therapist is that a therapist focuses on emotional and mental health, while a life coach focuses on personal growth and achievement.

Meet Justin, MAMFT, MFTC, CAT

My name is Justin Walmsley (he/him) and I am a Denver native with a passion for people and their success. I am on my fourth career now in the 18 years I have been working and wow has it been one heck of a ride. My latest gig was working in marketing and sales and you know, life just didn’t fit right. It was like I was wearing an undersized shirt made of itchy wool. One day I decided to move to Russia to take a teaching job and it was while working with a client teaching business English that I got started in coaching, go figure. While working with my Coaching clients, I could only go so far. This lead me to become a Marriage and Family Therapist studying systems and how the pieces fit together. Being a Therapist and Coach, I had finally found the shirt that fit and decided that I would go out on my own and do it my way. Just like I’m sure you want to do or have already had the courage to do. I help people like you, build, succeed, learn, and grow within their lives. I love wearing this shirt that fits!

Currently, I am a full-time therapist and addiction counselor working in my private practice. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University. I am a Marriage and Family Therapy Licensure Candidate and a Certified Addiction Tech with the State of Colorado. I am proud to be serving on the board of the Rocky Mountain Humanistic Counseling and Psychological Association.

I have been teaching and coaching various subjects since I was 16 giving me over 23 years of peer, one on one, and group therapy and coaching experience with all ages.
